The Four Seasons of the Park

The enhancement project for Parco Storico Bricherasio was designed to follow the succession of the seasons, transforming it into a spectacular chromatic symphony. The various botanical species offer ornamental characteristics that “bloom” throughout the year: vibrant blossoms, leaves changing colors or patterns, colorful berries and constantly evolving tree barks.

    History

Thanks to the thematic tour and the use of immersive technologies, a visit to Parco Storico Bricherasio becomes a unique opportunity to discover the history of the Bricherasio family.

The Bricherasio Castle has its roots in the 17th century when it was built on the remains of a medieval fortress. In 1822 count Felice Cacherano di Bricherasio acquired the property and, later, his son Luigi transformed the surrounding woods into a beautiful English-style garden.

The last male descendant of the family was count Emanuele. Upon his death the estate passed to his sister, countess Sofia, who dedicated her life to art and charity. In 1950, upon her passing, the countess bequeathed the Castle to Don Orione’s charity opening a new chapter in the history of the park.

  Art

Through augmented and virtual reality technologies, art comes to life becoming the key to discovering Parco Storico Bricherasio and the history of the family to which it was bond. Countess Sofia of Bricherasio, a student of the renowned painter Lorenzo Delleani, also frequently hosted at the Fubine Monferrato Castle important figures of the Piedmontese giving life to the famous “Sofia’s Cenacolo”. Master Delleani deeply influenced the countess’s art, particularly in the creation of landscape panels painted from life. In their paintings they often depicted scenic views of the park, of the village and of the surrounding countryside.

    The Park at Night

In our park the night becomes officially the fifth season. Parco Storico Bricherasio, from sunset on, reveals unique views and perspectives that are invisible in the daylight, offering an unforgettable experience. The lighting design was studied to enhance the variables that compose the park, from several botanical species along the path, the great rose garden and down to the architectural details of the Castle.
Special attention was given to the illumination of the paths maintaining a delicate balance between artificial light and vegetation as well as focusing on energy efficiency and combating light pollution. All variabiles which have been carefully studied to make this project even more extraordinary.
